Flood crisis in Gujarat, monsoon to become more aggressive in 24 hours: Heavy rains likely in other districts including Surat till 19th
Gujarat has been getting good rains since the beginning of August. Central Gujarat, Saurashtra, South Gujarat and North Gujarat have received moderate to heavy rains in the last two days. The monsoon is likely to become more aggressive in the next 24 hours, according to the Meteorological Department. Due to which heavy rains may fall in Anand, Surat and Surendranagar, Kheda, Narmada, Surat, Bharuch, Banaskantha and other districts. Due to activation of cyclonic circulation near South Gujarat and Kutch, the atmosphere of heavy rains in the state will remain the same. This



Chance of heavy to very heavy rainfall in these districts

Due to Cyclonic Circulation from 15th to 19th August Navsari, Surat, Valsad, Daman, Dadarnagar Haveli, Dahod, Anand, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Bharuch, Chhotaudepur, Dang, Narmada, Tapi, Bhavnagar, Botad, Gir-Somnath, Morbi, Junagadh, Por Rajkot, Surendranagar, Jamnagar, Dwarka, Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Aravalli, Banaskantha, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Mahisagar, Patan, Sabarkantha and Kutch are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains.

Heavy rains in 182 talukas on Friday


Moderate to heavy rains were recorded in 182 talukas of the state from 6 am to 2 pm on Friday. In which 20 talukas have received 2 to 7.4 inches of rain while 54 talukas have received 1 to 2 inches of rain. The highest rainfall has been recorded in Surat district till 2 pm today. Mangrol in Surat received 7.4 inches and Kamarej 4.6 inches.
